Alanna Monet

My name is Alanna Monet Carlson and it was only a few years ago that I discovered my passion for painting. I found that when I painted to impress my creator alone, I felt at peace about the end result. So I began to use my painting as a way to worship God and to connect with Him. I paint with oil and acrylic on canvas and my style is abstract, inspired by whatever God is communicating to me. My hope is that God would speak to people through my paintings. I sign my paintings "Alanna Monet," my first and middle names. Although my parents didn't have the French Impressionist in mind when naming me, I like to think it was my destiny to paint. I encourage you to ask God what he wants to say to you through these paintings. Apprecier!
  • Imagine being there for the creation of the world. To watch as His hands separated light from darkness, rising mountains and powerful rivers breaking through the canvas. God's canvas. To breath in, for the first time, His oceans, forests, and open fields of remarkable flowers. I painted this piece in the first ever Vancouver Vineyard Cultivation Youth Conference and with no clue what I was going to paint. As I picked up my brush that night, the Holy Spirit lead me through this painting. This piece represents His creation coming together to make a spectacular creation: Earth. --Alanna Monet
  • God's has given you numerous gifts and talents to be used for His glory. He wants those gifts and talents to grow. For me this painting is a reminder; "Continue diving deeper into Me," He says. "Know that your core identity and growth come from Me."
  • I am continually amazed by God's collaboration of color. Just his creation of the idea of color, leaves me in awe and wonder. This painting is an expression and subtle reminder to me that God's world is full of color and life.

Dannah Hooper

Although I’m only a fifteen year old high school student, I have always believed that I would be something great! Never had a doubt in my mind or heart. Always pursuing what I knew I was good at, using the talents God gave me. I loved and still love the Performing Arts. I've always liked to draw but it wasn’t aware of how good I was until my 4th grade teacher started showing me off. So I just kept on drawing and trying to get better. At the end of 6th grade I found a round canvas at the Good Will, I cracked open some old paints and just went at it! All this because I had faith in my God-given talents! I am not “regular,” or “normal.” but I am unique and can change the world and that’s all that counts.
